--Forwarded Message Attachment--

How are you and y'r family? my name is (Sfc 1st class) Carson Barn, an American Soldier, serving in the military here with the army's 3rd infantry division. with an urgent need for assistance, I have summed up courage to contact you andd found y'r contact particulars in an address journals am seeking y'r kind assistance to move the sum of ($19.8 Million U.S. Dollars) nine million eight hundred thousand united states dollars to you, as far as I can be assured that my share will be safe in y'r care until I complete my tour of duty here sometime next year.
Source of money:
Some cash in various currencies was discovered in barrels at a farm house near one of Saddam's ol' palaces in Tikrit-Iraq during a rescue operation, and it was agreed by staff Sgt Kenneth Buff and I that some part of this money be shared amongst both of us before informing anybody about it since both of us saw the money first. This was quite an illegal thing to do, but I tell you what? no compensation can make up for the risk we have taken with our lives in this hell hole of which my brother in-law was killed by a road side bomb last time. The above figure was given to me as my share, and to conceal this kind of money became a problem for me, so with the help of a British contact working here, whose office enjoys some immunity, I was able to get the parcel out to a safe location entirely out of trouble spot. he does not know the real contents of the parcel, and believes that it belongs to a British / American medical doctor who died in an raid here in Iraq, and before giving up, trusted me to hand over the parcel to his family back home. I have now found a secured way of getting the parcel out of Iraq to y'r country for you to pick it up.
Ill discuss this with you when I am sure that you are willing to assist me, and I believe that my money will be well secured in y'r hand because you have the fear of god. I want you to tell me how much you will take from this money for the assistance you will give to me. one passionate appeal I will make to you is not to discuss this matter with anybody, should you have reasons to reject this offer, please please and please destroy this message as any leakage of this information will be too bad for us soldier's here in Iraq. yet I don't know how long we will remain here, and I have been shot, wounded and survived two suicide attacks by the special grace of god, this and other reasons I will mention later has prompted me to reach out for help, I honestly want this matter to be resolved immediately, please contact me as soon as possible with my private e- post address which is my only source of communication.
God bless you,
Yours in Service,
Sfc. Carson Barn.

Blacklisted Emails | Email Seal Explained

EMAIL SCAM SAFETY TIPS

Scam tips and understanding scam email.

1. Take caution when you open email attachments, if you don't know the sender, google search or internet search the sending email address first. You can also search for the title of the attachment, also key words found in the scam email like. Such as keywords like names of individuals, phone numbers, the scammers so called place of business, anything is valuable in a scam letter to help identify it

2. Respond to only email addresses you recognize. Contacts that you have used before, although infrequently can at times be hijacked, so take caution even if you know the sender

3. Never give out personal information. If asked for anything other than your name and email address, do not reply. This is a basic rule, if the ask for anything other than what you feel comfortable sharing, don't reply

4. Call before sending information, even if the email looks legit. The number should also be searched or googled before calling. Numbers with a +44 prefix are normally scam numbers. You can also have your service provider search the number as well.

5. Never give out bank account information or any form of identification numbers, Social Security Numbers, or Credit Card numbers. Don't fall for it, never give out a bank number or credit card number, unless your doing direct business with the bank itself, there should be no reason for anyone to ask you to place your numbers in any email

6. Western Union requests are typically fraudulent. A company should be able to use Credit Card services or PayPal Services. Never send money to anyone by wire for a purchase. Even money grams and bank cards are being used as bait, don't fall for these scams!

TIPS FROM THE FBI

Here are some tips you can use to avoid becoming a victim of cyber fraud or email scams:

Do not respond to unsolicited (spam) e-mail.

Do not click on links contained within an unsolicited e-mail.

Be cautious of e-mail claiming to contain pictures in attached files, as the files may contain viruses. Only open attachments from known senders. Virus scan the attachments if possible.

Avoid filling out forms contained in e-mail messages that ask for personal information.

Always compare the link in the e-mail to the link you are actually directed to and determine if they actually match and will lead you to a legitimate site.

Log on directly to the official website for the business identified in the e-mail, instead of "linking" to it from an unsolicited e-mail. If the e-mail appears to be from your bank, credit card issuer, or other company you deal with frequently, your statements or official correspondence from the business will provide the proper contact information.

Contact the actual business that supposedly sent the e-mail to verify if the e-mail is genuine.
