Hello dear, I seek your consent for mutual gains

Good morning to you and I hope you are very fine today.
I am George Wan Bufa, Manager, Internal Audit Department of African Trade & Investment Bank (ATIB) Ghana. I need your participation to get some funds approved for release to us both. Let me begin by telling you about the origin of this fund in a nutshell.
General audit was conducted in the bank recently and a huge amount of fund was discovered in the dormant vaults of the bank. This fund valued at Seven Million six Hundred and Fifty thousand United States dollars (US$7,650,000.00) was deposited at the bank here for safekeeping purposes.
This fund belonged to an overseas contractor based here in Ghana. The said contractor was involved in an automobile accident along Kumasi express roads on Thursday March 20th 2008 where he, his wife and only daughter died as they were all traveling in the same car. There is no next of kin to the deceased as contained in the bank records and so, this fund has been kept in the dormant vaults of the bank for a long time now as unclaimed.
Upon getting these discoveries, I decided to embark on search via the internet in an effort to get to any of his family members or extended relative. This has been unsuccessful up until now.
Meanwhile, I desire to present you to the bank here now as the next of kin to the late Mr. Glen Harold Proulx so that you can apply for claims of this fund as beneficiary being that you are from the same country just like the deceased and so arguably, there is a possibility of some relationship between you.
Moreover, I am here to guide you accordingly with the relevant issues at stake to present you as rightful beneficiary of this fund to ensure maximum success in this pursuit for our collective gain. All I require from you now is your wholehearted cooperation to enable us claim this fund successfully. Therefore, upon receipt of your positive response soon, we shall discuss on the sharing ratio and modalities of transfer of this fund to your favour.
Be informed that I have all relevant information and legal documents needed to back you up to facilitate this claim risk-free.
Therefore, I await your response as soon as possible with the following detailed information about yourself:
Full Name..........................
Age....................................
Occupation........................
Marital status....................
Nationality of origin.....................
Phone number.. ................
Private E:mail......................
Please note! these information about yourself will enable me know you better as my intended business partner, and to also be able to communicate you better.
Do well to get back to me as soon as possible via my private Tel: +233 27 190 8721 or otherwise and kindly conceal details of this transaction from getting to the knowledge of a third party for security reasons.
Thanks and God bless.
Sincerely yours,
George Wan Bufa

EMAIL SCAM SAFETY TIPS

Scam tips and understanding scam email.

1. Take caution when you open email attachments, if you don't know the sender, google search or internet search the sending email address first. You can also search for the title of the attachment, also key words found in the scam email like. Such as keywords like names of individuals, phone numbers, the scammers so called place of business, anything is valuable in a scam letter to help identify it

2. Respond to only email addresses you recognize. Contacts that you have used before, although infrequently can at times be hijacked, so take caution even if you know the sender

3. Never give out personal information. If asked for anything other than your name and email address, do not reply. This is a basic rule, if the ask for anything other than what you feel comfortable sharing, don't reply

4. Call before sending information, even if the email looks legit. The number should also be searched or googled before calling. Numbers with a +44 prefix are normally scam numbers. You can also have your service provider search the number as well.

5. Never give out bank account information or any form of identification numbers, Social Security Numbers, or Credit Card numbers. Don't fall for it, never give out a bank number or credit card number, unless your doing direct business with the bank itself, there should be no reason for anyone to ask you to place your numbers in any email

6. Western Union requests are typically fraudulent. A company should be able to use Credit Card services or PayPal Services. Never send money to anyone by wire for a purchase. Even money grams and bank cards are being used as bait, don't fall for these scams!

TIPS FROM THE FBI

Here are some tips you can use to avoid becoming a victim of cyber fraud or email scams:

Do not respond to unsolicited (spam) e-mail.

Do not click on links contained within an unsolicited e-mail.

Be cautious of e-mail claiming to contain pictures in attached files, as the files may contain viruses. Only open attachments from known senders. Virus scan the attachments if possible.

Avoid filling out forms contained in e-mail messages that ask for personal information.

Always compare the link in the e-mail to the link you are actually directed to and determine if they actually match and will lead you to a legitimate site.

Log on directly to the official website for the business identified in the e-mail, instead of "linking" to it from an unsolicited e-mail. If the e-mail appears to be from your bank, credit card issuer, or other company you deal with frequently, your statements or official correspondence from the business will provide the proper contact information.

Contact the actual business that supposedly sent the e-mail to verify if the e-mail is genuine.
