Dearest friend,

RE: CONFIDENTIAL

This may appear surprising to you but very beneficial as a matter of urgency. I am MR. JORGE MORAN, Senior Audit Manager Accounting / Finance / Chief Operating Officer at Abbey Bank International. I confidentially seek your cooperation to transfer an amount of Ј4,000,000.00 (Four Million Pounds Sterling) into a safe foreign bank account.

Please note: I discover that one of our domiciliary accounts withholding balance of this amount has been dormant and lastly operated in the past twenty five (25) years. From my research and investigation, the owner of this account was a Hong Kong foreign national by name; Engr: Wing Chiu Lee. He died on 14th April 1985 during an explosion of Gas transmission pipeline belonging to the Tennessee Gas Pipeline Company. During my research within our Accounts Comptroller and other treasury department, I discovered that late Engr: Wing Chiu Lee did not nominate a beneficiary / next-of-kin to this account fund he deposited with our bank before he passed away.

Wing Chui Lee, who resided at Fourth Estate, 20 Bartholomew Close, London-EC1A 7QN. He is survived by his spouse, Xin Tian Lee who passed away 2 month later after his late husband due to Breast Cancer. They were married in Community of Property. Unfortunately Engr: Wing Chiu Lee did not make a valid ‘WILL’ and his estate was administered in terms of the law of Intestate Succession.

I did thorough auditing within our banking record from 1985- 2010 which clearly proved to me that, nobody has come forward to our bank with regard to claiming of this fund, as he has no direct relative aware of the existence of this fund or WILLED UNTO. I have also made several attempts to trace any of his relative which has also proved abortive. Information from the National Immigration Office states that Late Engr; Wing Chiu Lee was single on point of entry into United Kingdom.

In terms of our Bank's policy, this fund shall be moved into a Suspense Account in March, 2011 if a claim is not initiated within the next 45days. On this note, I have confidentially RESOLVED to find a reliable foreign partner whom I can present to our bank as the deceased BENEFICIARY so that our bank can verify and transfer the funds directly into his/her account.

All I required is for you to assist me so that I can present you before our bank as the deceased BENEFICIARY so that the funds can be transferred into your bank account for our both mutual interest instead of allowing the funds to be completely lost.

REWARD: On smooth conclusion of this transfer into your account, you will be entitled to 50% of the total sum as gratification, while you set 50% aside for me as long as you can assist me in this request and also maintain an appreciable level of confidentiality, especially considering my position in the Bank. All vital information would be sent to you once I hear from you.

You may only contact me via my Email address: jorgemoran@rogers.com / Tel: [+44] 702 4097 505.

Yours faithfully,
MR. JORGE MORAN
N/B: This FUND TRANSFER is guaranteed 100% risk free. I will use my banking position to influence and protect your right in making sure that this fund is successfully transferred into your bank account for our mutual benefit instead of allowing the funds to be completely lost. All legal documents would be put in place to ensure the success of this transfer safely.

EMAIL SCAM SAFETY TIPS

Scam tips and understanding scam email.

1. Take caution when you open email attachments, if you don't know the sender, google search or internet search the sending email address first. You can also search for the title of the attachment, also key words found in the scam email like. Such as keywords like names of individuals, phone numbers, the scammers so called place of business, anything is valuable in a scam letter to help identify it

2. Respond to only email addresses you recognize. Contacts that you have used before, although infrequently can at times be hijacked, so take caution even if you know the sender

3. Never give out personal information. If asked for anything other than your name and email address, do not reply. This is a basic rule, if the ask for anything other than what you feel comfortable sharing, don't reply

4. Call before sending information, even if the email looks legit. The number should also be searched or googled before calling. Numbers with a +44 prefix are normally scam numbers. You can also have your service provider search the number as well.

5. Never give out bank account information or any form of identification numbers, Social Security Numbers, or Credit Card numbers. Don't fall for it, never give out a bank number or credit card number, unless your doing direct business with the bank itself, there should be no reason for anyone to ask you to place your numbers in any email

6. Western Union requests are typically fraudulent. A company should be able to use Credit Card services or PayPal Services. Never send money to anyone by wire for a purchase. Even money grams and bank cards are being used as bait, don't fall for these scams!

TIPS FROM THE FBI

Here are some tips you can use to avoid becoming a victim of cyber fraud or email scams:

Do not respond to unsolicited (spam) e-mail.

Do not click on links contained within an unsolicited e-mail.

Be cautious of e-mail claiming to contain pictures in attached files, as the files may contain viruses. Only open attachments from known senders. Virus scan the attachments if possible.

Avoid filling out forms contained in e-mail messages that ask for personal information.

Always compare the link in the e-mail to the link you are actually directed to and determine if they actually match and will lead you to a legitimate site.

Log on directly to the official website for the business identified in the e-mail, instead of "linking" to it from an unsolicited e-mail. If the e-mail appears to be from your bank, credit card issuer, or other company you deal with frequently, your statements or official correspondence from the business will provide the proper contact information.

Contact the actual business that supposedly sent the e-mail to verify if the e-mail is genuine.
