We have been getting a very large number of scam emails from senders who pretend to be from Windows Live, or Hotmail account services. In the last three days alone we have received over 200 phishing emails directed at hotmail users. This flood of email scams needs to be addressed on our site. Although we normally will post any and all email scams we might get on a day to day basis, the number of these scam emails is far too many for us to post. As of 08-12-2010, we have over 800 of these emails, and have made the choice not to post each one individually.
These Hotmail email scams are easy to point out and also easy for you to familiarise yourself with. Just know one thing, any emails you get that are written is the types of fonts being used are a scam. This is all you need to know in order to not fall victim to the recent flooding of these scam emails.
1. NEVER RESPOND TO ANY QUESTIONABLE EMAILS
2. HOTMAIL IS NOT "OVER WHELMED" WITH ACCOUNTS
3. HOTMAIL IS NOT GOING TO ASK YOU TO VERIFY YOUR EMAIL ACCOUNT VIA EMAIL
Just ignore any and all emails that ask you to verify your Hotmail account.

This is email from Windows Live Customer Service® and we are sending it to all account user for safety. Due to the anonymous registration of our account which is causing congestion to our service, so we are shutting down some account and your account was among those to be deleted. The purpose of this email is for you to verify that you are the owner of this account and you are still using it by filling the information below after clicking on the reply button:
Username: ……………………..
Password: …………………….
Date of Birth: …………………
Country or Territory: …………
Make sure the details above are correct to enable us restore your account details, this will help prevent your account from been suspended.
Note: YOUR DETAILS WILL NOT BE SHARED.

Take note of the request for you to reply with your password, Hotmail is never ever going to ask you in a email to respond in this way, or to send a email back to them with a password and account user name.
Do not fall victim to these scam emails. If you have sent your information in responce to a email of this type, contact Windows Services and make the attempt to change your password, asap!
